Riven (undulating), Antique, Tumbled or Sawn Travertine, Limestone or Marble (acid sensitive surfaces)
You should not use acidic products on these materials as the surface will be eroded.
It is, however, possible to use Cement Away on rougher surfaces but take great care and test the area first as YOU WILL BE ERODING THE STONE as well as removing grout or cement residue. This is best suited to materials that will be given a surface coating to provide a sheen (see the relevant section at the start of this Help system for how to seal your stone). Only do this if the instructions below do not work.
For most of these surfaces you can only use an alkaline product such as Power Clean. This will NOT dissolve cement based residue but will assist you when scrubbing off the residue. You can use nylon scrubbing pads, like those used in the kitchen. Obviously, you need to take care not to scratch the stone.
Call us if you need further assistance on 0845 226 1488.
If in any doubt DO NOT use any acidic products.
