Sealed with a Surface Coating such as Multi Seal or Cobble Wax
Sealed with a Surface Coating such as Multi Seal or Cobble Wax
For regular, routine maintenance use Easy Care in the washing water.
You need a couple of "golf ball sized" blobs in a bucket of water. Use a mop. No need to rinse with clean water. This is best done reasonably frequently as it is designed to maintain the floor rather than clean a very dirty one.
Periodically, perhaps once every 2 - 3 months, use Wexa in the washing water instead of Easy Care. This is a stronger cleaner that will "spruce up" any high traffic / highly stressed areas. Best no to use this more than once per month on average.
You can also use Wexa if you have a spillage (perhaps a bottle of wine or a plate of roast dinner!) Remember to remove acidic spillages (wine, fruit juice, vinegar, de-scaling products etc.) VERY quickly from any stone, especially limestone, marble, travertine etc. as they can be permanently damaged by such things. The coating of Multi Seal, Cobble Wax or similar product you have on your stone will further protect from acidic spillages.
Because you have a surface coating you are actually walking on this coating rather than the stone itself. Because of this the sealer will need to be topped up every so often.
To do this clean the area with Wexa and rinse (you do not want to seal in any dirt) and allow to dry. You can apply Multi Seal neat or diluted with water when topping up. Follow the instructions on this site and on the can.
Antique or tumbled stone that has been sealed with Cobble Wax. Re-apply cobble wax as per instructions on this site and on the can whenever the stone looses its sheen or obvious surface coating.
As long as you maintain the surface coating You should never need to re-apply the impregnating sealer that was applied underneath it.
